Introducing My Family

So I thought I'd take a minute to introduce my family a little more thoroughly. I plan on chronicalling a lot of our adventures and quite frankly I think my kids are the bees knees so I want to share their awesomeness with you all. ♡

This is my partner, Ty. He won't appreciate me putting this photo up but oh well. Lol.

We met in highschool, but didn't start dating until a few years later. At this point we are going on 4 1/2 years. My eldest was 18m exactly when we reconnected and started dating. We've had our rough patches because we are very nearly complete opposites, as were our upbringings and experiences in life, but there has always been love. And with that love we have built a beautiful family and a beautiful life together. He's shy, quiet, a homebody. He likes video games and reading. He's a very keep to himself kind of person, but if we're so vastly different... what made me fall in love? ... Watching him turn into a giant kid playing with my daughter. This man goes all out, getting on the floor, roughhousing, completely wild! And the kids just eat it right up! I adore the shit out of him even when I want to strangle him in his sleep. LOL!

Below is Zuri. She has gone by "Z" since she was a tot (her preference). She will be 6 in September.

This little girl is about as feisty as they come. She is most definitely my most challenging child thus far, but lemme tell ya, she's also the Apple of My Eye. She is bright, imaginative, strong willed, free spirited, creative, intelligent, forgiving (almost to a fault), family oriented, deeply loving, and has an amazing sense of humor. She is very perceptive for such a little one and thinks deeply about things. She loves to dress fancy and host parties and spend time with friends and family. She also loves to run nude at home, have girls night almost every night (movie and popcorn), find worms, and play outdoors. She has one hell of a temper on her, as do I, but that will be a topic in other posts. Z is also a little activist and her passion and pureness of heart is most definitely a source of great inspiration for this mama. I couldn't be more proud of the amazing young woman she is blossoming into. The picture below describes her personality to a T. Lol.

This is Alia. She is going on 16m this month. We had a bit of a rough start due to birth trauma and the resulting detachment and depression. Which will be a topic in future posts.

AJ is just the happiest baby on the planet. For the longest time I referred to her as "fussy" because she is a more "high needs" baby. But when I stopped to think about it, I realized she wasn't *just* fussy. She simply has very strong emotions. Yes, she cried often as a babe. I mean a LOT! But when she was happy? She was REALLY happy. And as a toddler now it's a lot more pronounced. Despite her sensitivity & clingyness & extreme crying/tantrums... she is seriously just the happiest baby that ever lived. I have truly enjoyed watching her grow into the little person she is. She loves to "scare" people and "prank" us. She loves to take walks (and walk all by herself!) She is very much already a girly girl like big sis! She adores music and singing songs with mama. She loves her dollys and her kitties (which she just calls CAT or bebe). Little Miss doesn't talk much yet (although she can) but she is all about them large motor skills. Kiddo was scaling by 6 months and walking by 10m! Crazy baby!

I have always said, "Zuri made me a mother, and Alia has taught me what it means to be a mother."

These kids have taught me many lessons, and I wouldn't be who I am today if not for them. They inspire and motivate me to take and keep on the path of self growth, no matter how hard it may be. I don't often think I'm doing a good job at this whole motherhood thing, but when I look at them, I know I must be doing something right.

So there you have it, my beautiful, crazy, amazing little family. Life isn't always easy, in fact it's downright chaotic with these little wildlings most days, but I wouldn't have it any other way!
